A real lawn, built from the ground up

The service

What you get with Campbell’s

Most failed lawns fail underneath. If the grade is wrong or the soil isn’t prepared, it doesn’t matter what you lay on top. We do the prep work that decides whether a lawn takes.

We will tell you honestly whether sod or seed makes more sense for your property, your timeline and your budget. They suit different situations and neither is always right.

Then we install it and tell you exactly how to water and care for it through establishment, which is the part that determines how it looks a year from now.

New lawn installation FAQs

Sod or seed: which should I choose?

Sod gives you a finished lawn immediately and is best for visible areas, slopes and when you need results now. Seed costs less and can work beautifully when you have the patience and the right season. We recommend based on your property, not a preference.

When is the best time to install a new lawn?

In Ohio, spring and early fall are generally the strongest windows. Sod is more forgiving on timing than seed. If you are planning a project, ask us early and we will tell you the ideal window.

How soon can I use the lawn?

New sod needs time to root before heavy use, and seeded lawns need longer. We will give you specific guidance for your install.
